Mist Fountain Troubleshooting - Easy Guide to Troubleshoot Your Mist Fountain

Turn on the mist fountain, put the lights out, entrust yourself on your favorite couch and relax. Just let your senses while away as it puts you slowly to a deep and restful slumber. In no time at all, you might be dreaming that an adorable tiny air craft has landed vertically from space.

Exactly! A mist fountain is like a UFO with its discoid shape and design, colored-changing lights and white fog hovering over, low-lying and circulating around. While you are out of consciousness, your body and mind is resting. The mist fountain is working by giving the necessary moisture in the air and the beneficial negative ions.

In the reservoir of the fountain, the cool mist is produced on the surface of the water by a ceramic disk that resonates at an ultrasonic frequency. Fog that appears on top rises or lays low adding humidity in the air you breathe. The negative ions are also produced by the rapid vibrations under the water and rise up with the tiny molecules of water. It is very helpful in purifying the air. This improves a person's defense against respiratory diseases and infections.

After waking up feeling energized you found at that your mist fountain has gone out (it did not lift vertically into space) of fog. It is now the time for you to clean or replace the ceramic disk. Ceramic disks come into sizes; 20mm (approximately ¾ inch) and the smaller is 16mm (approximately ⅝ inch). Be sure to choose the exact size for your mist fountain.

It's Troubleshooting Time:

1.) Disconnect the fountain from the power source, remove the mister from the bowl and dry it off.

2.) There is a key for removing the winding ring. Insert it in and turn counter clockwise.

3.) Remove the winding ring and the ceramic disk. Give special ATTENTION to the front and back side of the ceramic disk. Put it back with the correct side down, black ring facing down.

4.) Remove mineral deposits from the ceramic disk with a soft cloth and put it back or replace it with a new one. Then follow the reverse order of the procedure above when you dismantle it.

5.) See to it that the entire inside area of the mister is dry before installing the ceramic disk back in place.

In general, automatic mist fountains always use 16mm ceramic disks. Mist fountains with controllers/remote controllers always use 20mm ceramic disks.

Some Recommendations to Avoid Problems:

- Run the mist fountain not more than 8 hours a day. It is advisable to use a timer connected to the transformer so that it will only run when you need it.

- Place it in a position where droplets of water or dampness won't be an issue concerning appliances, pieces of furniture and other decorations.

- Always use clean tap water and change it regularly to avoid formation of bacteria and microorganisms. Clean water will always give you the normal misting effect.

- Use only soft cloth and water for cleaning. The use of abrasive should be avoided.

- This machine operates only when the water sensor is submerged in water. Keep the water level above the water sensor.

- If replacing the ceramic disk does not put the mister back to work, consider buying replacement parts.

A mist fountain is beautiful, like nature it gives us good quality of air. Next-to-nothing when it comes to appeal and benefits. Take good care of it!
