LCD Enclosures - Protecting Outdoor Digital Signage to -30 Degrees

With the evolution of advertising mediums, all you have to do is look round and you see digital signage every where. Now one of the main issue is when you put digital signage in hostile areas, such as in areas that are extremely hot and humid or extremely cold, the electronics inside the media players and LCD or plasma televisions start to erode, causing problems to occur with the digital signage.

There are three main solutions, one is to purchase an actual television that can cope with these extremes temperatures, however these are very expensive and on a long lead time. They however will either offer protection in only one of the temperature zones, such as working at below freezing or working in temperatures above 120 degrees Fahrenheit, this is not a solution for all seasons.

The second solution is to run the signage hardware in normal conditions and when any extreme temperatures occurs, then relocate the sign to an indoor location, then relocating later when the temperature is more normal. This is not an ideal solution, having to down the electronic billboard system and then having to re set it up inside.

The last option is to purchase an outdoor LCD enclosure, these are fitted with both heaters and chillers, so that a digital signage solution can be installed outside and left, these are ideal for outdoor signage networks with up to 300 electronic billboards spread across different States.

The sophisticated electronics inside the television enclosure provide a safe and secure environment for the standard dynamic signage system, when the internal temperature reaches 60 degrees Fahrenheit, the chiller unit is activated and cools the internal temperature back down, then when the internal sensor detects the outside temperature goes just above freezing the heating element automatically comes on and heats the unit internally, preventing any humidity or condensation build up inside the enclosure.

The above solution allows businesses to locate outdoor signage even in areas that are susceptible to extreme temperatures from -30 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, giving the digital signage integrator the piece of mind, that their hardware and solution is protected.
