The important factor for the system's success is that the water droplets generated are close to the same size as the particles of dust that must be suppressed.

Agricultural cooling is another important job that is carried out by misting fans and lines. Heat stressed animals don't put on as much weight as animals that are comfortable and cows that are kept cool produce more milk. An outdoor cooling system effectively lowers the temperature for the livestock on hot days and the result for the farmer is an increase in production which translates in an increase in income.

The important ingredients in the success of all of these misting systems are the misting nozzles that control the flow rate and droplet size of the water that passes through them. They must be taken care of because they are small pieces of equipment that can be prone to clogging.
